We are Shoreline

Our Story

We met in 1st grade and instantly bonded through a shared love of cars. We spent summers during school working for race shops at Sonoma Raceway, where we developed a deep passion for vintage racing machines. After completing engineering degrees at top universities on opposite sides of the world, Spencer was accepted into an Oxford-based startup incubator program to pursue his automaker dreams and Kyle left Ford after co-authoring four patents to work in the aerospace industry. In 2020, Spencer shared a design for a new sports car inspired by his favorite vintage racing cars. Feeding off each other’s enthusiasm, Spencer moved to LA and Kyle quit his job. We began developing a car that would deliver the purity of a 1960s sports prototype and last as long as a satellite in space. Thus, Shoreline was born. But why now?

Regulations are forcing OEMs to make heavier and more complex cars. As a result, demand for a pure driving experience is increasing. We have charted a path to utilize low-volume legal exemptions – and modern design and manufacturing technologies – to build road-legal sports cars that deliver exceptional levels of mechanical purity and driver involvement.

Our first vehicle - the LM Coupe - has been designed and engineered entirely in-house over the last several years. This is an automotive startup made by enthusiasts for enthusiasts; our cars are designed to be driven. We are looking forward to our public opening in the near future, and tapping into California’s incomparable car culture.

Spencer Beckman

Founder, CEO

Determined to start his own car company since age 15, Spencer combined his lifelong passion with a Motorsport Engineering degree from Oxford Brookes University and years of entrepreneurial experience. He drew the first LM Coupe sketches in 2020 and developed a business plan with the help of several veteran automotive executives from Europe’s leading luxury carmakers. His vision for Shoreline is that of a company which exudes automotive passion, creates kinetic sculptures for discerning clients, and gives back to the automotive enthusiast community.

Kyle Krueger

Founder, COO

Kyle grew up with a strong affinity for mechanical things which naturally led to a love of cars. He graduated from UC Davis with a Mechanical Engineering degree and began his career at Ford, developing high voltage battery systems before transitioning to aerospace, where he manufactured composite structures and rocket engines at some of the biggest names in the business. Through it all, his passion for driving has remained. His vision for Shoreline is to bring customers the highest level of manufacturing excellence within a truly unique driving experience.

“To me the ultimate car is a form of kinetic art where design and engineering meet on equal terms. The LM Coupe is just that – a sculpture that comes alive.”

“We are building the LM Coupe to the same standards I grew used to in aerospace. You can’t fix a satellite once it’s in orbit; it simply cannot break.”
