Edition #TWENTY-TWO
Gaining Traction, Going Trackside

As we head into every car enthusiast’s favorite month of the year, I wanted to reflect on all that has happened since our last newsletter went out. We received nearly 800 customer inquiries on the Shoreline LM Coupe. Many of them came from people named Steve. That is completely irrelevant, I just thought it was worth sharing.
What is not irrelevant is the amount of organic traction that we picked up over the last two months. Usually when a carmaker wants to get some publicity, they publish a press release to “the wire” for other news agencies to pick up and spread to their readers. In the four years that Shoreline Bespoke Vehicles has existed, we have not put out a single press release. Nevertheless, by building a product that resonates so strongly with a fanbase as passionate as the automotive enthusiast community, the last two months saw several news outlets (check out our newly added press section) and prominent automotive podcasts cover our story! As a result, our social media channels have been growing at a rate we’ve never seen before. If you’re one of our new followers, welcome and thank you for joining us on our journey to make the most engaging road-legal, rain-or-shine two seater of the modern era. I’m so excited to keep building on this momentum with Monterey Car Week just around the corner. And if you’ve been waiting to see and hear our prototype in person, I have more good news: the car will be on display at Laguna Seca Raceway Aug 13-17th! I will also be at the racetrack on Friday the 15th and Saturday the 16th to chat and answer any questions you may have. You can reserve a time slot here and find us next to Turn 11 (“X” marks the spot) on the map below!
Next up: some minor design tweaks. You may have noticed a few new renderings on our website showcasing updated lighting hardware. While the final design has yet to be signed off, I have been making progress on finding the right “eyes” for the LM Coupe.
I’ve noticed a new trend recently: the latest cars to market seem to be moving away from anthropomorphic design and in favor of a style that is sleeker, but also less human. Ferrari design boss Flavio Manzoni is one of many current designers embracing this trend - he doesn’t want you to see headlights as eyes and a grill as a mouth. As a result, the latest Ferrari’s don’t really have “faces.” Check out the new Ferrari Amalfi, and how it compares to the highly anthropomorphic face of the 250 SWB produced from 1959 to 1963. The 250 SWB is also universally regarded as one of the most beautiful cars ever made. In fact, almost every “most beautiful cars” list is full of classics with design elements that remind us of our own anatomy. Coincidence?
While I appreciate both design languages, I personally prefer anthropomorphic design. I think it gives cars so much more personality - especially important for purchases that are as emotionally driven as sports cars. That’s why I’ve been spending a lot of time making sure the face of the LM Coupe has the right blend of timeless curves and modern details.
Lastly, we have some new merch! In celebration of this year’s Monterey Car Week, we have a few commemorative posters on our updated store. Keep an eye out for hats and sweaters coming soon too - the most necessary clothing items of Monterey Car Week, of course!
And now, it’s back to the behind-the-scenes work while we prepare for Monterey Car Week! I can’t wait to share some of the developments that are already underway for our prototype, as well as some more merch coming soon! In the meantime, you can visit our website to learn more about our vision for Shoreline and our cars. By subscribing to this newsletter, you’re the first to know about vehicle updates, future reveals, and more… stay tuned!
